For a long time, I believed that my best was whatever I could accomplish if I pushed hard enough.
Work longer. Sleep less. Ignore the warning signs. Keep going.
And for a while, it worked.
Until it didn’t.
Sustainable performance isn’t about pushing harder. It is about managing your energy so you can continue showing up at your best, day after day, year after year.
Most people think about energy only in physical terms. But energy has four dimensions:
⚡ Physical energy fuels action.
🧠 Mental energy drives focus.
❤️ Emotional energy shapes relationships.
✨ Spiritual energy provides meaning and purpose.
When one of these dimensions starts running low, the cracks begin to show.
One small step: take 60 seconds and rate yourself from 1-10 on your four energy dimensions. And then ask yourself: “Which area needs your attention most today?”.
This simple check-in has helped me notice energy drains before they become bigger problems.
Small observations. Small adjustments. Big results over time.
Lasting success should never come at the expense of the very health and energy that makes success possible.
This idea became the foundation of my upcoming book, BOOST: Energize Your Life One Small Step at a Time, which is now available for pre-order.
